Terpsolate

Terpsolate is a term used within the cannabis industry to refer to a specific type of cannabidiol (CBD) product that combines CBD isolate with terpenes. CBD isolate is a pure, crystalline powder that contains 99% pure CBD, with all the plant matter contained in the hemp plant removed, including oils, waxes, chlorophyll, and more. This leaves behind only the CBD chemical compound in its purest form. Terpenes are aromatic compounds found in many plants, including cannabis, which are responsible for the plant’s unique scent and may have therapeutic properties of their own. By adding terpenes to the CBD isolate, manufacturers create a product that aims to enhance the therapeutic effects of the CBD through what is known as the “entourage effect.” This effect suggests that cannabinoids may work better together than in isolation. The addition of terpenes is intended to mimic the natural composition of cannabinoids found in the full spectrum of the cannabis plant, while still providing a product that is free of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component of cannabis. Terpsolate is often used by individuals looking for the potential benefits of CBD, combined with the aromatic and possible synergistic benefits of terpenes, without the psychoactive effects of THC.
